Stronger Relationships with Students, Peers and Ourselves

In this panel, presented by John Catt Education, a trio of educator-authors discuss relationship development and maintenance across the entire spectrum: from our relationships with students, to those with peers and colleagues, to the relationships we maintain with ourselves. The topics across the arc of the conversation include understanding students’ personalities and dispositions, how our actions toward learners affect them on a day-to-day basis, and how to maintain and strengthen connections in the middle of remote learning. The panelists also discuss tactics for building a valuable professional network to provide adequate support, and how to grant ourselves “permission” for self-care. They close by describing the necessary mindsets for mental health awareness and how intentional attention makes this successful.
